LG has finally released its first-ever series of high-end ultrabook-style laptops in the United States. The company has launched its LG gram series, a line of lightweight and premium Windows 10 on Monday.
While the Korean electronics company is known for everything from appliances to smartphones, it is also recognized for manufacturing computers. However, this fact might not be acknowledged by most American shoppers, since LG has previously sold its laptops in other countries, not including the United States.
The LG gram series include three fixed-configuration models, which will be sold initially through Microsoft stores or at Amazon's website, starting at $899. One model is 13-inch in size, while the other two are 14 inches. Each features full HD 1920 x 1080 resolution display, 16:9 ratio, lightweight, slim body, built-in Digital-to-Analog converter for high-quality sound, as well as Intel Core i5 and Core i7 processors.
The white-colored LG gram 13-inch model has an 8GB of memory, 128 GB of internal storage, and Intel Core i5. On the other hand, the LG gram 14-inch model weighs in at 2.16 pounds, making it lighter than the 13-inch MacBook Air of Apple. Its body is made of carbon magnesium ad carbon-lithium to ensure durability. Moreover, this 14-inch model comes in gold color with the same features as the 13-inch model for $999. However, another option will be an Intel Core i7 14-inch model for $1399.
The gram series laptops are all Microsoft edition devices that include Microsoft Edge and Cortana for improved productivity. All laptops are equipped with a virus-protected system as well as free of installed junkware. Each also includes WiFi, microSD slot, Bluetooth, built-in HDMI port, up to 7.5 hours battery life, and ports for USB 3.0 and micro USB.
Overall, LG's latest offerings are definitely promising and top-of-the-line. The LG gram series laptops hopefully bring a success to the company as it ventures out in a new and exciting path.
