Avril Lavigne just recently admitted that she's still recovering after her battle from Lymes disease. The pop rock princess is now doing her part to help people who are suffering from the disease by kick starting a crowdsourcing campaign.
Avril Lavigne collaborated with Prizeo, a fundraising website for a five-week long campaign, which already launched on her 31st birthday. "Disease is an important issue that is personal to me," Lavigne wrote on the Prizeo website. She continued by stating, "Only a small percent of people get the early diagnosis and treatment that is so important in fighting the Disease. I am asking you to join me in helping kids and families receive the treatment they need."
E! News claimed that once the campaign will wrap up its period of charity work on November 9, the grand winner will have the chance to hang out with no other than, Avril Lavigne. The winner will also have the opportunity to be a part of an upcoming film entitled "Charming," which is an animated movie featuring the voice of the singer as Snow White.
"You'll get to record your line with the director of the film, and you might even get a little sneak peek of the animation AND a script signed by the cast members!" Lavigne confirmed. Allegedly, all of the proceeds of the charity contest will go to the Avril Lavigne Foundation, which was launched in 2010 "to design and deliver programs, raise awareness and mobilize support for children and youth living with a serious illness or a disability."
Previously, Lavigne admitted that she almost died from the illness. She even revealed that at some point she became bedridden while battling with the life- threatening condition. She told People, "I felt like I couldn't breathe, I couldn't talk and I couldn't move," she said at the time. "I thought I was dying."
And now, to fully support the campaign, the pop rock singer herself recently released a statement in line with her campaign against Lyme disease. In the statement, she stressed how excited she is for the campaign that supports people with Lyme disease. She claimed that her fans all throughout the world have been always supportive of her career moves and campaigns and now, she's ready to give back.
