'The Last Man On Earth' Season 2 Spoilers: Carol And Phil Separate; Show Lands Hulu Streaming Rights

By

"The Last Man On Earth" recently premiered its second season and in it, Carol and Phil were seen hunting for the best place to live in as the former was unhappy being at the White House. The series was also able to land Hulu streaming rights.

According to i09, Carol's indecision to go back to their old apartment led Phil to leave her at an Oklahoma gas station. Phil thought that Carol might have returned to Tucson, where he and the rest of the characters have spent most of their time in season one.

However, when Phil went back, he learned that none of the characters from the past season were there. It looks like they might have evacuated the area for some time already. His old house had been burned as well.

According to Grantland, only three characters were introduced in the first episode of "The Last Man On Earth" season 2. In season one finale, fans of the show were introduced to Phil's brother, Mike, who is alive and was apparently in space. In the season 2 premiere, he was back on Earth but in a different place just like Phil and Carol. It remains unclear how the story will develop from there.

Meanwhile, it was reported by Deadline that "The Last Man On Earth" was able to land Hulu exclusive streaming rights to all past episodes of the hit series. The streaming site was also able to score a day-after-airing streaming rights for its current episodes as part of the deal.

Craig Erwich, SVP and Head of Content at Hulu, said in a statement, "Hulu subscribers have been huge fans of The Last Man On Earth since its premiere. Now, we want to give them the gift to watch all episodes of this creative, fun series."

The second season of "The Last Man On Earth" kicked off with Phil leaving Carol and reintroducing his brother Mike in the story. These three characters were the only ones seen throughout the episode and it remains unclear where the other characters from season one have gone. New episodes of the FOX series air Sundays at 9:30 P.M.
