"Castle" Season 8 episode 1 already premiered last week. Kate Beckett was seen escaping someone from her past but the military was able to track her down so she needs a new hideout. It has also been rumored that the ABC show will be cancelled after this season due to low ratings.
In a sneak peek for the second episode entitled "XX," it has been revealed that she and her friend Vikram Singh will be saved by the stepmother of Castle, Rita. The two needed to getaway quickly but two soldiers cut off their path but Rita gunned them down so they were able to escape the area.
According to HNGN, it remains to be unknown if Rita has been revealed to Beckett before by her husband or he himself have kept some secrets to his wife. When Beckett and Castle reunite after the exhaustive attempts to escape, the former promises not to keep more secrets but it is not yet clear if she will talk to Castle about his step mother.
Just a recap about the lies that Beckett told Castle, Christian Post reported that Beckett told Castle that the call she received was from a telemarketer. However, Castle finds out that she lied about it when he finds his wife's bracelet inside one of the bodies of the three people who have been shot at a theater. Beckett said that she had to lie in order to protect her husband but Castle will reportedly doubt her in the next episode of "Castle."
Meanwhile, it was rumored that "Castle" will be cancelled after season 8 due to the low ratings during the season premiere last Sunday. According to Yibada, season 8's premiere hit an all-time low as it pulled in only 6.8 million viewers and a 1.2 demo rating as opposed to the premiere episode of season 7 which had 10.8 million viewers. There has been no reports yet or confirmation regarding the rumored cancellation.
"Castle" Season 8 episode 2 will see Kate being saved by Castle's step mother. Castle and Beckett will reunite after her attempts to escape and the latter will promise to her husband that she will no longer keep secrets from him. Watch the next episode on ABC at 10 P.M. on Monday.
