'Gambit' Movie Updates: Anna Paquin says 'no' to reprising Rogue; Production struggles without a director

"Gambit" has finally having a standalone film but before it is finally released, news is circulating all over the internet. Recently, Anna Paquin confirmed that she won't be reprising her role as Rogue in the movie.

On Sunday, a Twitter follower of Anna Paquin has asked her if she will be reprising her role as Rogue in "Gambit". But, it seems like fans won't really get to see her in the movie. She replied the question on her social media account with a "no".

Moreover, it was revealed that the awesome actor, Channing Tatum, will be playing the title role of "Gambit". In the movie, Movie Pilot reported that some details are being kept concealed by the 20th Century Fox. However, Tatum is rumored to also be seen in the X-Men: Apocalypse without Paquin in it.

Cinema Blend reported that Gambit and Rogue has had a confusing and miserable romantic affair in the X-Men universe. But in Bryan Singer's X-Men series, Rogue was involved with Ice-Man (Shawn Ashmore).

Gambit is a mutant who has the mental ability to turn potential energy to kinetic energy. He is also known as the card thrower and other objects as he turns them into explosive projectiles. Gambit was once a thief before he joined the X-Men.

There were three attempts of making a standalone film for Gambit as of 2013. Taylor Kitsch's Gambit first appeared in adverse of Hugh Jackman in X-Men Origins: Wolverine. In the upcoming movie, Tatum will take the role of Kitsch. Andre Tricoteux will replace Daniel Cudmore's Colossus in Deadpool.

Sources say that Rogue might still appear in the movie, although it might have a different star that will be portraying the role. But it was not yet confirmed.

The "Gambit" standalone film will be out in October 2016. However, the production is struggling without Rupert Wyatt who just left the director's chair.
