'Ride Along 2' Movie Updates: First trailer featured on TV; Ben Barber and James Payton's role will be interesting

It has been a while since Universal Pictures has shown any footage from the sequel of the comedy movie hit, "Ride Along". However, the upcoming movie has had a trailer released on TV.

On a Wednesday night, the one-minute TV teaser for the "Ride Along 2" has been featured during the Empire's Season 2 premiere. Collider reported that the sneak peek featured the comeback of the two buddy cops, Kevin Hart and Ice Cube.

In the TV spot, the two went on a mission to Miami from Atlanta to arrest a drug dealer who has been supplying products into their hometown. As it was observed, Ben Barber (Kevin Hart) and James Payton (Ice Cube) has had another round of interesting bonds which was believed to make the fans enjoy the movie for the second time.

In Entertainment has listed the casts and crew who are also behind the movie aside from the two lead characters. Under the direction of Tim Story, Will Packer, Matt Alvarez, Larry Brezner are the producers alongside Ice Cube. The movie will also feature Olivia Munn, Ken Jeong, Nadine Velasquez, Tika Sumpter and Benjamin Bratt.

According to the Movie Web, the first movie franchise has grossed to a total of $134.9 million with a $25 million budget used.

Hart is now a full-fledged Atlanta P.D. cop who aims to be a detective. On the other hand, Cube will soon be his brother-in-law who is engaged with his sister Angela.

In the first film, they don't totally get together and Hart is still annoyed by his approach until Lt. Brooks (Bruce McGill) assigns them on an enormous mission where they will be teamed up to a smart woman, Maya.

With the success of the first film, sources say that the sequel will do just the same. "Ride Along 2" is scheduled for a US release in January 15th, 2016.
