'Captain Marvel' is not out in cinemas until 2018, but details on its production are on-demand. Fans and moviegoers are excited on the possible casting of the Earth's mightiest superhero, and new speculations have 4 women on the frontlines. Meanwhile, the 'Captain Marvel' movie is also said to be filmed in Australia, as is allegedly going to be the case with 'Thor: Ragnarok'.
According to Cross Map, Emily Blunt has been the frontline of actresses poised for the role of 'Captain Marvel'. Addressing these rumors, Blunt has denied that she is confirmed for the role, saying that she hasn't received a call from Marvel. When asked if she would say yes to the part of ever, Blunt answered that she would, provided she really is the perfect match for Carol Danvers.
Blunt also theorized on why she has been rumored to play when there is no studio confirmation for it. Charlize Theron, Rebecca Ferguson and Jennifer Lawrence are with Blunt in the 'Captain Marvel' rumors. Blunt explained that roles like these are at a shortage in Hollywood. Having done physically and mentally strong characters, Theron, Ferguson, Lawrence and Blunt are always rumored to play a role like that right away.
Part of the rumors as well is Angelina Jolie, but aside from being rumored to play, allegedly she is being offered the director's chair. Understandably, the movie does not only need a strong heroine, but a strong female director that can be at the film's helm. As Movie Pilot reported, 'Captain Marvel' must have "a defiant, independent streak in the face of old-school sexism."
Meanwhile, Comic Book reported that 'Captain Marvel' may head to Australia to film, along with 'Thor: Ragnarok'. Apparently, Disney was very pleased with the filming of 'Pirates of The Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales', prompting the studio to bring more movie there. The move is also a potential cost cutting measure, because of the familiarity on locations they could shoot, saving time and resources for scouting.
'Captain Marvel' is slated to be released November 2, 2018. With no director and confirmed cast yet, 'Captain Marvel' has ample time to choose its bearer before its estimated filming start in 2017. Marvel is right to take things in the right time, Carol Danver as 'Captain Marvel' on the big screen marks a milestone: being the first ever Marvel female character to star in a solo movie.
