According to Realty Today, the enlistment of Eva Bella, voice of the young Elsa, in 'Frozen 2' has ensured planned minutes for the younger version of Elsa. This has led to the speculation that the plot or at least part of it will involve the origin of Elsa's power.
Elsa might be central to the story more than before. Gospel Herald reported that there might also be a love interest for the Snow Queen, who will also show a "fun" side of her. Will one of her candidates for love interest be Prince Hans, who was a loose end in 'Frozen'? Rumor has it that Hans will return, not as a villain, but as a changed man. With him as an ally, the probability of a new sinister villain becomes higher.
Meanwhile, Princess Anna "superpower" is love. As witnessed in 'Frozen'. Anna's love was able to break spells/curses. According to Movie News Guide, Buck and Lee acknowledge this, but as to how her love becomes a superpower that will save the day in 'Frozen 2' is unknown.
Both Buck and Lee also acknowledged that they have decided on the theme and rough plot of 'Frozen 2'. Apart from being a magical adventure, both directors aim to tackle issues in the movie that will have societal impact and still relatable for kids.
While Elsa and Anna weave powers or live in a realm where fantasy is reality, they are still both young girls. The issues that they face, according to Buck and Lee, are issues that many people of all genders and ages face.
