After months of waiting, the "Assassin's Creed" movie is under filming. While the production team is shooting in Malta, leaked photos have confirmed that the filming is ongoing.
In an article on the Movie Pilot, five photos of the filming are leaked. The pictures featured the sets while the production is being done. In the photos, the Valleta streets looked like the game itself.
Recently, Malta Today has confirmed that "Assassin's Creed" is in the town for the development of the movie. According to Engelbert Grech, the film commissioner in Malta, the team has discussed with the Malta Film Commission. As the key film location, Malta is also a beneficiary of the production incentives.
"Malta has truly become a key film location. Assassin's Creed chose Malta following discussion with the Malta Film Commission and will benefit from incentives offered to productions filming in Malta," Grech said.
It was reported that Michael Fassbender will play as Callum Lynch. But recently, Movie News Guide said he might be Harry Hole instead. Harry Hole is a detective in Jo Nesbo's novel "The Snowman's". Alongside him, Ariane Labed, Marion Cotillard, and Michael K. Williams will be in important roles.
"Assassin's Creed" will be about the revolutionary technology which deciphers genetic memories. Callum Lynch will experience the fate of Aguilar in the 15th Century Spain. Aguilar is Lynch's ancestor.
Callum Lynch (Michael Fassbender) will then uncover that he has cascaded from an enigmatic secret society called the "Assassins". With the mission to compete the brutal and authoritative Templar organization, he accumulates marvellous knowledge and skills.
"Assassin's Creed" will be produced by Ubisoft alongside New Regency. The upcoming movie won't be the first movie produced by the New Regency. With its "12 years a Slave", "Birdman", and "Gone Girl" under their production, "Assassin's Creed" might as well be a great movie.
As the filming starts, more changes and details might spring up. But, the last thing left to do is to wait until the movie comes out in December 21, 2016.
