HP is rumored to be launching the new Envy 8 Note 5000 tablet a few weeks from now. However, there has already been leaked photos and specs of the device which is believed to run in the newest Windows OS.
The new tablet hasn't been officially announced yet by HP, but it was briefly shown by Microsoft in their Computex keynote address in Taiwan. The alleged Windows 10 tablet can be briefly seen starting at the 7:48 mark of the YouTube video.
Microsoft has recently launched their Windows 10 operating system earlier this year. Besides their own mobile devices, Redmond might be spreading the OS to other manufacturers. This is where the HP Envy 8 Note 5000 comes in.
Leaked images from WinFuture shown at Windows Central reveal that the HP's alleged upcoming tablet has two microphones, a volume and power button, and a microSIM card slot.
The HP Envy 8 Note 5000 sports an eight-inch display, which the naming convention comes from. The rumors don't really tell what the resolution is, but many are hoping that it should be at least 1920 x 1080 FHD.
One of the largest leak came from the alleged tablet's product page from HP Switzerland. However, the said page has been taken down since the word got out. Fortunately, some Internet users were able to view the cached page via Google.
For starters, the page stated that the HP Envy 8 Note 5000 will be powered by the quad-core Intel Atom x5-Z8300, according to NeoWin. It has 64 GB for internal storage but no info on expandability. Interestingly, it also notes that the tablet will have 4G LTE support from a microSIM. Users will be able to enjoy blazingly fast speeds with the device, provided that the signals are good.
Another feature that was stated is the HP Envy 8 Note 5000 will support a full-sized keyboard and a stylus. However, such keyboards are sized larger than the tablet itself. The alleged tablet would also support Wi-Fi connectivity with MIMO. Other features include a proximity, gyroscope and ambient light sensor. It will also have an accelerometer and a 5MP camera, according to Ubergizmo.
Since the product hasn't been officially announced yet, the HP Envy 8 Note 5000 still has no release date yet. However, the price may be $720 as stated in the site.
HP might be launching the Envy 8 Note 5000 soon. The leaked photos and specs will be tested if they are indeed true.
