The first trailer for the horror film "The Forest" is out and finds Natalie Dormer in the middle of a petrifying place, as she searches for her missing twin sister. The film features Japan's Aokigahara forest, also known as the "suicide forest."

MTV reported that Gramercy Pictures has released the trailer for the supernatural horror thriller "The Forest." The film stars Natalie Dormer as a young woman named Sara, who goes on to search for her missing twin sister in Japan's infamous woodland called Aokigahara Forest.

It is worth noting that in mythology, Aokigahara is a place known to be haunted by demons. In reality, however, the forest is famous for its hiking difficulty and frequent suicides. As for the movie, it's going to be a bit of both. The Aokigahara forest lies beneath Mount Fuji, and is known to be a suicide spot; thus, making the spooky locale the perfect setting for a horror film.

According to First Showing, there was a previous film that also features the said forest, titled "The Sea Of Trees." It starred Matthew McConaughey and directed by Gus Van Sant and featured a more dramatic tale. However, Dormer's "The Forest" is a bit creepy and horrific with ghosts and stuff happening to her.

Collider reported that the cast members include Taylor Kinney, Eoin Macken and Yukiyoshi Ozawa. The film is written by Sarah Cornwell and Nick Antosca, and is based on David S. Goyer's idea. Jason Zada, on the other hand, directed the movie.

"The Forest," which hits theaters on January 8, circles around the angry and tormented souls that prey on anyone who wanders into the forest. The lead character, Sara, is determined to discover the truth behind her sister's fate, despite everyone's warning to stay on the path.

The film seems pretty interesting, considering Natalie Dormer's more thrilling role compared to her appearances in "Game of Thrones" and "The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1." Still, the question remains: Will she make it out of the Aokigahara Forest alive, as she tries to save her missing twin sister within the so-called "suicide forest?"
