Following the official over-the-air (OTA) release of iOS 9.0.1 software updates beginning last September 23 to a bunch of iPads, iPhones AND iPods, Verizon Wireless now rolls out the update through its own network without having to use Wi-Fi connection or iTunes.
Apple's iPhone 5, iPhone 5C, and iPhone 5S now receive the latest software update of iOS 9 using Verizon Wireless' network seven days after it was made available by Apple through automatic download over Wi-Fi connection and iTunes. Before proceeding with the download, make sure the device's battery is fully charged and has a strong Verizon or Wi-Fi signal, if not using iTunes.
