The upcoming film "Captain America: Civil War" actually is a trilogy for the Star-Sprangled Avenger and not an Avenger movie in itself. The president of Marvel Studios confirmed it is indeed for Cap and shared more about it.
With the massive casting involved in "Captain America: Civil War" such as the likes of Iron Man, Spider-Man, Ant-Man, Black Widow, Falcon, Scarlet Witch, Vision, Winter Soldier, War Machine, Black Panther and Hawkeye, it could very well be considered as an Avengers movie, according to Collider. The film is set for release on May 6, 2016 and fans have thought much about how it could be a movie titled as it is focusing on Cap. Speculations have finally clamped down as Kevin Feige say it is not a film for the superhero team.
Cinema Blend shared more about what the President for Marvel Studios has to say about "Captain America: Civil War." Feige previously shared about the film being more about Captain America. He mentioned it yet again and gave a perspective about how Marvel Cinematic Universe looks at the movie. Kevin mentioned that with the title of his first motion picture, "The First Avenger", it will finish off with "Civil War." He was quoted saying, "I think one day you'll look back and watch - Captain America: The First Avenger, Captain America: The Winter Soldier, and Civil War - and it'll be one of the most unique and different trilogies ever around a single character."
He again mentioned that Civil War is a follow-up to the second Captain America movie. The report also confirmed that the motion picture was inspired by the comic version and is not a direct adaptation itself, since the comic version showed that Captain America was shot dead.
UPROXX noted the statement by Feige that "Captain America: Civil War" is "a completion of a Caps trilogy." He used the word "a" instead of "the" which means that Winghead still has a couple of more movies to make.
Now that Kevin Feige has ended speculations for "Captain America: Civil War" as an Avenger film and it is actually the end of a trilogy for Captain America, fans can now flock to theaters on May 6, 2016 with this knowledge in mind and will see the film in a whole new perspective.
