The latest iOS device iPad Air 3 is currently in the works but Apple has decided to postpone its launch this year in favor of the iPad Pro. Nevertheless, rumors hint that it will be launched in early 2016.
The Cupertino-based tech giant has recently unveiled the iPad Air 3 at the same time the 12.9-inch iPad Pro was launched. The next iPad Air model is speculated to be released early next year. Nevertheless, Apple is not giving any confirmation anything about this, Realty Today wrote.
According to Vine Report, a report from Economic Daily News stated that Liaoxian Yi, a Fubon Bank analyst have said that Apple allegedly made a decision to change the release date of the iPad Air 3 from October this year to spring of 2016, amid fears that the iPad Air 3 will cannibalize sales of the iPad Pro since both will come with the same size.
When it comes to specifications, the rumoured iPad Air 3 will have a 9.7-inch display just the same as its predecessor. It will also sport an improved 4K screen resolution of 2,334 x 3,112 pixels display which translates to a pixel density of 401 ppi and an aspect ratio of 4:3. In contrast, the previous iPad Air 2 has a 1,536 x 2,048 pixels resolution, reports International Business Times.
Apple's latest A9 or A9X chipset will provide power for the iPad Air 3 along with a RAM unit in the sphere of 2GB and 4GB. Unfortunately, its battery unit could be a downside, although the specific capacity is still unknown at this time. The iPad Ar 2's remarkable 7,340 mAh cell could be reduced in the new iPad Air model.
As for its camera configuration, the iPad Air 3 will have an 8-megapixel rear-facing sensor and a 2.1-megapixel front snapper. The new device will be offered in 16GB, 64GB and 128GB storage variants.
The site also noted that the forthcoming iPad Air 3 will be 5 mm thick. This indicates that it will be slimmer compared to Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 8.0 and Galaxy Tab S2 9.7. Lastly, another notable feature in iPad Air 3 is its IP rating for water and dust resistance. It is said that no other Apple device comes with an IP certification except for the Apple Watch.
The iPad Air 3 is anticipated to be priced around the same as the current iPad Air 2. Currently, the iPad Air 2 Wi-Fi-only varaint with a 16GB capacity comes around £399, while its Wi-Fi + Cellular variant along with 128GB capacity is available at £659.
