The Android Lollipop 5.1 for Xperia M2 and M2 Aqua is now ready to update the forerunner models of Sony. Lollipop 5.1 update has been released last September 29 for this pioneer models and is now working with Xperia Z1 Compact, Xperia Z1, Z Ultra, T2 Ultra and C3.

According to Yibada, these two devices were formerly running with Android 4.4 KitKat before Sony decided to skip Android 5.0 and directly update it with the 5.1 version.

As the Android 4.4 KitKat OS caused a lot of glitches to its users, the OS upgrade sounds good to the users, especially because of the improved aspects and enhanced capabilities Android 5.1 Lollipop provides.

Tech Times cited the notable changes that Android 5.1 will bring to Xperia M2 and M2 Aqua. One of the improvements is a restored look that relies on Google's material design. Another improvement is more ways to modify your phone which provides better control over volume, silent modes and alerts.

LinkedIn integration that works closely with the Calendar app is another enhancement that the new Android OS brings. This upgrade connects the scheduled meetings with data from the professional social media, so every user's plan get synchronized for better business performance.

Another noticeable change is the SmartWear integration wherein the owners of SmartWatch 3 may take better selfies using the smartwatch as a remote shutter button. In addition with the developments, the Wi-Fi and Bluetooth are now easier to reach through the shortcut menu.

And lastly, for users who have been victims of the StageFright vulnerability, it is significant to know that the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop is taking care of it. The StageFright worked in a simple way: users will receive an MMS from a hacker and, upon opening it they were unknowingly granting him total access to their phone. That huge breach is noted to allow malicious people to steal your personal information and confidential data, such as contact lists, messages, photos or videos.

Furthermore, IBTimes said on one of its articles that the update will be rolled out in batches so all the owners of the above mentioned Sony devices will not receive the Android 5.1 arrival notification at the same time. Once the over-the-air update shows up, users should tap on it to follow the steps in order to install it. Otherwise, users can manually check for the update by heading to Settings, tap about phone, then look for system updates and lastly, check for updates

Meanwhile, the Android 5.1 Lollipop will also be released for other Sony devices, specifically Xperia Z4, Xperia Z3+ Dual, Xperia Z3+, Xperia Z3, Xperia ZR, Xperia Tablet Z and Z2.
