After Sony Pictures moved 'The Night Before' forward five days to Nov. 20, the comedy film releases a new clip with Seth Rogen, Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Anthony Mackie doing a version of Kanye West's Runaway in a toy store.
According to Entertainment Weekly, Rogen, Gordon-Levitt, and Mackie pay tribute to Tom Hanks film Big in the newest trailer of 'The Night Before'. Unlike their inspiration, where chopsticks were played on the larger-than-life keyboard, the three performed Kanye West's Runaway in the toy store full of kids and their parents.
Rogen and Levitt were doing the piano accompaniment and Mackie grabs a toy megaphone and gets the crowd riled up. PF course, it was a hilarious dissonance with their not-so-family friendly song being performed in a room full of children.
According to Variety, 'The Night Before' features Rogen, Gordon-Levitt and Mackie, are three longtime friends who celebrates Christmas together for the last time after 14 years, which started due to the death of the mother of Gordon-Levitt's character. This pending conclusion of the Christmas tradition is due to their lives changing: with Rogen's character becoming a dad and an Mackie's fame as an athlete.
Boston Herald also reported that 'The Night Before' promises a cosmic chaos which starts when Rogen's character's wife gave her husband magic mushrooms and cocaine as the trio celebrates their last Christmas. Hilarity ensues with the gift givings, performance in the the store and the barfing in a church while wearing a Star of David sweater and then declaring to the congregation, "We did not kill Jesus!"
'The Night Before' was directed by Jonathan Levine, with the script he wrote with Evan Goldberg, Kyle Hunter and Ariel Shaffir. Producers are Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg and James Weaver. Themovfe to November 20 for its initial opening date pits it against Lionsgate's 'The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 2,' STX's thriller 'The Secret in Their Eyes,' starring Julia Roberts.
