OnePlus X Specs Leak: $250 Phone To Be Unveiled By The End Of 2015?

By

Chinese smartphone maker OnePlus is rumored to be launching another smartphone with two known names, the OnePlus X and the OnePlus Mini. Earlier reports have pegged the new device for a price of $250 which puts it right at the mid to high-end devices. Will the specs be worth the money?

OnePlus Mini / OnePlus X Rumored Specs

First up is a strong 5-inch 1080p 2.5D display. The screen is rumored to be protected with either Gorilla Glass 3 or 4, which will make it a pretty durable phone for the average user. Scratches and dents are less likely to appear on the screen. In addition, it might also come with hydrophobic and oleophobic coating.

Powering the new OnePlus phone is the MediaTek Helio X10 SoC. Users are quite disappointed that the new phone will not be using one of Qualcomm's chips. It will come with 2GB of RAM, according to Phandroid.

Unfortunately, the OnePlus X will not have a dual camera setup as previously reported. The rear camera doesn't disappoint, however, as it will be a 13 MP snapper with the IMX258 sensor from Sony. It's also ideal for low-light conditions and portraits because of its large f/2.0 aperture. It will have a 5MP front camera with a wide-angle sensor.

The video capture capabilities of the phone are also decent. The rear camera will be able to take 4K video at 30 frames per second, while the front cam can still capture 1080p videos, according to G for Games.

Users will be glad to know that the OnePlus X will be able to last long with a rumored 3100mAh removable battery. It will also sport the new USB Type-C connector and ports for faster data transfers and charging. The phone also comes with an NFC chip, a fingerprint reader and an IR Blaster.

When will the phone be launched? There are no release dates yet. However, it might be unveiled by the end of the year, according to First Post.

Several press renders have already been leaked. However, OnePlus hasn't confirmed anything yet as of the moment.

The OnePlus X, or the OnePlus Mini, has a fair price tag for its specs. However, is it enough to be a real flagship killer?
