"Fear The Walking Dead" Season 1 ended with a strong finale as the number of viewers and ratings were high. Spoilers for the AMC spin-off series have also been released.
According to Deadline, the first season ended with an intriguing twist as the survivors wanted to escape LA through the sea. They are to make their way to Strand's yacht and go off-shore. The finale episode had 6.86 million total viewers and a 3.37 rating in the 18-49 demographic.
Co-creator Robert Kirkman also shared in a statement, "Fear is going to be a journey show the way early seasons of The Walking Dead were a journey. Always trying to differentiate the two shows as much as possible, being on the water is vastly different than being on the land. Anybody who's concerned about there being not enough zombies because they're on the water - because I've seen some people concerned about that - shouldn't have any worries there," Entertainment Weekly shared.
Kirkman added that there will be a lot of intense action and awesome "boat stuff" but despite the fact that zombies can't walk on water or swim, there will still be a lot of zombies for the second season.
Den of Geek reported that there will be a time jump for season 2 when it returns next year. He shared that there has been a lot of emotional weight in the season 1 finale over the loss of Liza and Griselda so the time jump won't be that far.
Robert also revealed that fans should not expect that there will be a crossover with "The Walking Dead" and "Fear The Walking Dead." He pointed out that there is no sense that the characters will cross worlds as they are in places miles away from each other.
"Fear The Walking Dead" has ended strong with its first season as there were more than six million viewers. Spoilers were also revealed saying that season 2 will be more on the ocean rather than on land. The AMC spin-off series is expected to be back by 2016 with no specific premiere date yet.
