Marvel Comics gave out clues of a probable sequel for "Captain America: Civil War." Comic book stores all over the United States has received a postcard that is somewhat peculiar and puzzling at the same time. Elizabeth Olsen says that she enjoys portraying the character of Scarlet Witch.
Australia Network reports that Marvel Comics gave the impression that there might be a sequel to "Captain America: Civil War." This was due to postcards that they have sent to comic book store owners in the US. Take Ryan Higgins, for example. He is a comic book retailer and owns Comic Conspiracy in California. Higgins went to Twitter about a postcard that was sent to his store by Marvel Comics. The postcard shows Iron Man and Sam Wilson as Captain America squaring off. The back of the postcard has an imprint of a Roman numeral "II" with a caption at the bottom stating "Spring 2016." The font is noticeably the same as that of the logo in Civil War.
Epic Stream also confirmed the distribution of the postcards to not just a few but to all comic book stores in the United States. They reported that it is highly possible "Captain America: Civil War" might be divided into two parts of a whole movie. They also took note of the movie release on May 16, 2016 which incidentally, is spring time as well. The report stated that the postcard somehow validates a part two of the comic book. But there is still that probability that the storyline of the first film will have some unresolved issues.
If one scrutinizes the movie timeline for Marvel, 2017 has no Avenger films lined up. This gives a gap of two years separating the Civil War film and "Avengers: Infinity War Part 1." Speculatively, the timing is said to be "perfect" for a sequel release for summer or spring 2017, considering a lot of studios usually make an official announcement for a follow-up film after the first movie rakes in more than what was expected which has been a notable practice.
Another thing that fans took notice of is the absence of Scarlet Witch on either side of "Captain America: Civil War" art, as stated by IGN. The character is played by Elizabeth Olsen. She admits that she actually loves Scarlet Witch is because she can work on both sides. She says that as an actor, it is a "fun place to be." Olsen essentially approves of the Gypsy Witch not being shown in the art. This makes her become a "wild card" and this gives her a certain edge where people are unaware of her capabilities. So far Elizabeth refuses to disclose any details of the affiliation of her character.
With Marvel Comics just basically giving out "clues" through their postcards, there isn't much to hold on to. It is still uncertain if there will be a sequel for "Captain America: Civil War." Comic book store owners who received the postcards as well as fans can only speculate. As for Elizabeth Olsen, her love of her character Scarlet Witch is very clear and even said it is a fun place to be.
