Alien 5: Paradise Lost Confirmed to Begin Filming in 2016; Director Ridley Scott Reveals Plans of a Prometheus Trilogy

Dr. Shaw and David are set to travel to the home of the engineers in the upcoming Alien 5 officially titled, Paradise Lost. While filming is only set to begin next year, director Ridley Scott revealed his plans for a few more films that will tie the films closer to the story of the Alien franchise.

While promoting his recent film The Martian, Collider reported that Scott was able to reveal bits about the plot of the upcoming instalment of the Prometheus sequel, and said that Dr. Elizabeth Shaw and David will not be alone in the beginning of the film.

"It's going to be it's own separate thing because they are going to the planet of the Engineers and they are going to see what happened there. It was a disaster. And they will be in that alien craft that takes them there, but with a new group that's incoming, a new group of travelers in the beginning of the first act.", Scott revealed.

The sequel was recently confirmed not to end the franchise as Scott is planning on creating more films. According to iDigital Times, Scott is currently planning on creating a trilogy in the sequel that will tie in the Prometheus franchise with the Alien franchise which he also started several decades ago.

Pertaining to the film's plot, Scott also divulged that Dr. Shaw and David will pursue on their plan on going to the home of the Engineers through an Engineer ship, as featured in the final part of the first film. According to Movie News Guide, despite being decapitated previously, David will have a body in the sequel as Scott said that he could be attached to a new body or get the original body back.

Filming for Alien 5: Paradise Lost is set to begin in March next year, and will see the return of Noomi Rapace as Dr. Elizabeth Shaw and Michael Fassbender as David. Ridley Scott is sitting in the director's chair for the film which is slated to hit theaters in May 20, 2017.
