The hotly-awaited sixth season of "The Walking Dead" will open with some mind blowing scenes spread throughout the hour. Longtime walker fans should also brace themselves for something major is likely to happen on Carl’s orbit as soon as the AMC smash unspools the new bunch of episodes.
TV Line recently chatted with showrunner Scott Gimple to hash out the events abound in the new season. Apparently, the zombie drama has definitely upped the ante in presenting the continuation of Rick and co.’s story this fall. “It starts off with some of the highest intensity that we’ve ever seen on the show, and then gets contemplative very quickly. And then boom, it’s right back to that insanity and intensity. And it sort of follows that trail throughout the episode,” Gimple enthused.
According to the executive producer, the premiere titled “First Time Again” is sort of a mash-up of the last two season openers. “[The Season 4 premiere] set up that whole season. It showed all of these interpersonal relationships, and it culminated in a huge set piece. And then [the Season 5 premiere] was just insanity from start to finish,” he added.
AMC also unveiled the first look photos of "The Walking Dead" season 6 through Variety. Indubitably, the new batch of images strongly alludes that the show will continue offering its loyal viewers its bloody and macabre tone in storytelling.
In other development, it has been reported by Entertainment Weekly that something big might happen to Chandler Riggs’ Carl. This may sound exciting, but details about his rumored storyline this season sounds rather disturbing.
“In the comic around this time, a giant herd of zombies infiltrates Alexandria, causing panic, hysteria, and yes, death. There is also a gruesome injury to one of the main characters. In the mayhem, Carl is shot — right in the eye,” the publication wrote.
"The Walking Dead" is not known to shy away from violence and with this new scoop surrounding Carl, it’s likely that fans will see Rick’s son wearing a eye-patch in the future.
"The Walking Dead season 6" is going to unspool an intense season premiere on Oct. 11th. Showrunner Scott Gimple revealed that it is a mash-up of the season premieres of the past two seasons. Meanwhile, walker fans should keep an eye out for Carl – due to some rumors about a permanent injury that unfolded in the comics.
