‘Supergirl’ Premiere: New Action-Packed Trailer Released; First Look Photo of Big Bad “Red Tornado” Unveiled

In a matter of weeks, CBS will finally launch the landing of "Supergirl" on our small screens. Starring Glee alum Melissa Benois, the show will follow the story of Kara Zor-El as she finally embraces her destiny as a superhero. To promote the Greg Berlanti-produced drama, CBS has released a new trailer and a sneak peek image of season one’s villain.

Released via Youtube, the latest trailer of Supergirl gives viewers a 1-minute preview into the world of Kara Zor-El. In the DC comics lore, Benoist' titular character is also known as Superman's cousin and that trait is heavily felt in the brief teaser.

“The new trailer offers a peek at what happens after Kara decides to become the titular hero, when she embraces her role as National City's protector and uses her impressive collection of powers to take on some new foe,” TV Guide said in a report.

In other Supergirl news, the first look image of season one Big Bad “Red Tornado” has been unmasked by the network via Variety. The aforementioned villain will be played by Iddo Goldberg, whose recent TV credits include Salem and Peaky Blinders.

In the CBS adaptation, Goldberg’s character is also known as Dr. T.O. Morow. Followers of the series will find him unleashing his dark side after discovering the great potential of his creation. “Red Tornado is an android designed by Morrow himself for the U.S. Army. However, the superweapon built to fight national enemies soon becomes the threat himself,” the site wrote.

What’s more, showrunner Greg Berlanti confirmed that Goldberg’s villainous character has an affiliation with General Lane, known to the comic lore as the father of Lois and Lucy Lane.

With the recently released trailer, the superhero's fans are already dying to witness the first flight of Kara Zor-El as Supergirl and her first fight with the Red Tornado. Unfortunately, they will still have to wait until Oct. 26th for CBS' "Supergirl" premiere.
