Google Nexus 9 smartphones of T-Mobile officially receives the Android 6.0 Marshmallow's over-the-air (OTA) update after the software update was approved to launch. The most exciting Marshmallow update on Nexus 9 owners under this carrier will bring in a host of new features and improvements to their device.
T-Mobile begins rollout earlier today the Android 6.0 Marshmallow software to Google Nexus 9 and is expected to finish two weeks from now. The update was first hinted via a track list posted on the telecom's support page for software updates. The list was intended to track or monitor the present software status of Android 6.0 Marshmallow to a group of handset devices from Samsung, LG, HTC and Google.
As forecasted in the previous months, the biggest update in Android history will roll out to Nexus 9 aside from two other Nexus devices. Before coming to the "Complete" phase of Android 6.0 development, Nexus 5 went through a series of tests from the manufacturer's end up to the carrier which took the update long to finish.
Android 6.0 Marshmallow will offer best-ever features and enhancements, as follows:
- Doze Mode. This new feature screens phone and puts into a deep sleep when unused to prolong battery life.
- Now on Tap. Google Now gets better function. Press holding the home button will show up Google Now and exhibits information based on current status or activity.
- Android Pay. By just a simple tap, bring up Android Pay and make purchases without the need to launch another app.
- Direct share. Share photos, links, news, files, etc. with selected contacts with ease and quickness.
- Simpler volume controls. Control ringtone and media volume spontaneously.
The Android 6.0 Marshmallow is also currently rolling out to Google Nexus 7 (2013) and Nexus 9 devices. Meanwhile, Nexus 6 owners can expect to receive the update anytime soon since the device is now under the testing stage.
