Half Life 3 is now considered as the longest developed game since its announcement in May 2006 and supposedly released on December 2007. Until now, the game developer Valve is wordless as to when they would release the game; or will they?
The Half Life 3 comes first after it surpassed Team Fortress 2 which was announced in June 1998 and was released only in October 9, 2007. iDigital Times estimated that the latter was in development for 3,418 days while 3,421 days after the former's announcement, Valve has not release even a teaser for Half Life 3.
The site even recall an interview Geoff Keighley gave with Gabe Newell, the head of the Valve. Newell spoke about the development of the next Half Life game. "The only reason we'd go back and do like a super classic kind of product is if a whole bunch of people just internally at Valve said they wanted to do it and had a reasonable explanation for why [they did]," Newell told Keighley.
Valve has released Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, Portal, Portal 2, Left 4 Dead, Left 4 Dead 2, Alien Swarm, and Dota 2.
NSEAVOICE even wrote its frustrations and concerns over the so much delayed of the much anticipated Half Life 3. Supposedly, it is Half Life 2 episode 3 but since the waiting is like forever, many dubbed the title to Half Life 3 instead.
Meanwhile, Moviepilot aired the hope of many gamers that Half-Life 3 is still returning and that their dreams will be realized in a masterpiece for next gen. However, the site also declared its exasperations when Valve have apparently finished huge chunks of Half-Life 3 but they are just not ready to complete or unleash it upon the world.
Regardless of reason why Valve delayed the release of Half Life 3, gamers are still expecting that the game will be available. And many are still hoping that Valve would released the game soon.
