All Indian owners of the Huawei Honor 6 may now rejoice for their handset will receive an Android update. The Android 5.1.1 Lollipop upgrade is set to arrive to Honor 6 smartphones any time now through over-the-air programming.
The Huawei Honor 6 will not only get the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop update, but also receive a brand-new EMUI 3.1 launcher. The said update will be launched first for a small batch of users. If there are no bugs detected, then the company will continue the roll out of the Android update to all the remaining Honor 6 handset users. Also, when installing it, be sure to have at least 3GB of space available on the device.
As the users update their Honor 6 to Android 5.1.1 Lollipop operating system, the Material Design interface will show up on their device. Android 5.1.1 Lollipop is packed with all the stock Android features and a lot of great inclusions added by Huawei, including brand new icons in the Settings menu.
From now on, all the users' data are safer from any attacks, since the operating system's security has been greatly enhanced. The users won't have to worry about the Stagefright glitches for Android 5.1.1 will get rid of them.
Furthermore, the Android ART has been fully executed in Android 5.1.1 to replace the old Dalvik memory management. With the ART runtime, Honor 6 is expected to run smoothly and faster than before.
In the meantime, the update is only being pushed through in India. It can be downloaded directly through Huawei's official website.
However, Android 5.1.1 Lollipop can be installed manually. Simply go to the device's Settings then click About Phone. After that, tap the System Updates. If there is an update ready for download, then confirm the installation. The installation process will then take place. Just wait for it to be completed and the update will run on the Honor 6 in a short while.
