The synopsis for episode 4 of "Nashville" Season 4 titled "The Slender Threads"has just been released. Rayna's (Connie Britton) Highway 65 artists perform at the Grand Ole Opry and viewers will be treated to a lot of backstage drama. Meanwhile, Juliette (Hayden Panettiere) appears to have reached rock bottom as she turns to pills and alcohol to forget her troubles. After the personal drama of the previous episode, music will again take the spotlight.
IB Times reports that Markus (Riley Keen) steals the attention away from Layla (Aubrey Peeples) when Rayna brings her artists to the Grand Ole Opry to showcase their talents. According to the episode synopsis, Markus makes demands on Rayna because he knows she desperately needs a successful artist in her roster and Markus takes advantage of this fact.
Rayna is not the only one who has been neglecting Layla it seems. Layla is feeling a little jealous of the several weeks her boyfriend Jeff (Oliver Hudson) spent with Juliette on tour according to Hollywood Reporter. Layla and Jess will have a lover's quarrel in the episode.
Meanwhile, Jeff arranges for a journalist to shadow Juliette on tour. The journalist could discover and eventually expose her personal secrets. After another personal setback, she takes pills and alcohol to get her through. The combination might make Juliette to finally hit rock bottom.
Fashion n Style reports that the official promo for the episode reveals that the latest of Juliette's personal problems is seeing paparazzi photos of Avery (Jonathan Jackson) and Emily (Kourtney Hansen) spending time together. The media is making it appear that they are having an affair and Juliette might just believe the media spin.
Also in the episode is Scarlett (Clare Bowen) mourning her mother's death and Zoey (Chaley Rose) coming back to visit her. It will be recalled that Zoey left Nashville for Los Angeles in Season 3 after her breakup with Gunnar (Sam Palladio). Viewers will see if she found greater success there than she did in Nashville.
