New HP Envy 13 Laptop Available Soon, Aimed At Apple MacBook Air

By

HP launched a new line of laptops including the HP Envy 13, the smallest of the bunch weighing only around 2.8 pounds.

What's great about the new 12.95mm thick laptop from HP is that it is claimed to last up to 10 hours in its battery life. This makes it great for long sessions if an electrical outlet is nowhere to be found.

The $900 HP Envy 13 laptop sports a 13-inch screen with two available display resolutions. Buyers can choose from the standard 1080p display or opt for the higher 3200 x 1800 pixel display. Both are powered by IPS, according to Liliputing.

Just like the HP Spectre x360 convertible laptop, the new slim model has an audio powered by Bang & Olufsen. It is also powered by the sixth generation Intel Core chips and it comes in several variants: i3, i5 and i7. All are coupled with 8GB of RAM.

More interestingly, the HP Envy 13 is available for up to 512GB of solid state storage. The SSD makes for a faster and more responsive laptop.

Another interesting perk is the laptop's fingerprint reader that can be used with the Windows Hello feature, according to Engadget. For users who want a longer-lasting laptop, they can look at the new HP Spectre x360 convertible laptop.

HP claims that the new 13.3-inch laptop can last for up to 15 hours. It is also powered by Intel's new Skylake processors.

Even with the 4K display option, the HP Spectre x360 laptop can still last for up to 12 hours, according to Tech Radar. For a much smaller laptop, the HP Spectre x2 could be a good choice.

HP's new 12.5-inch laptop is also powered by the sixth-generation Skylake processors from Intel. Just like the HP Envy 13, it also comes with 8GB of RAM.

Both the HP Spectre x360 and the Spectre x2 will be available on November 8 for $1299 and $799 respectively. The HP Envy 13 will be available on October 18.

HP's new laptops are slim, yet powerful. The HP Envy 13 in particular is being aimed at the MacBook Air.
