'Assassin's Creed' movie continues to excite fans and curious moviegoers, as it continues to build an A-team cast and crew. With a promising plot, stellar cast and a talented director, many are optimistic that the 'Assassin's Creed' movie will do the video games justice.

The talented Michael Fassbender, who plays original lead character Callum Lynch/Aguilar, is recently joined by Jeremy Irons and Brendan Gleeson. According to Cinema Blend, Gleeson will play Joseph, who is Fassbender's character's father while Irons will be the father of Marion Cotillard's character. Michael Williams is also in the film. With a cast line-up like this, it would be a little difficult to go wrong.

This cast of A-list Hollywood actors is the best audiences have seen assembled for a video game movie. Off to a promising start, the 'Assassin's Creed' movie also has a talented filmmaker on its helm, according to Cheat Sheet. Director Justin Kurtzel is in charge, and he is also the director of the highly anticipated Oscar-bait, Macbeth. He also directed Fassbender and Cotillard as the lead stars in the Shakespearean Scottish play.

The article also commended the choice of video game to adapt. Part of the reason why video game movie adaptations failed was the poor choice of games to adapt. While some games may be iconinc, famous or brilliant in it game form, not everything translates well when turned into film format.

In choosing 'Assassin's Creed', there is a rich narrative and deep mythology ready to be utilized. It has an extensive universe with "intriguing storylines" that can work well in any format. In fact, 'Assassin's Creed' is so expansive, that it has spawned more than 20 sequels and spinoffs combined, book series and comic series. The latest game, 'Assassin's Creed' Syndicate, comes out 23 October 2015.

Moviegoers have seen so many disappointing movies based from video games. Hopefully, the studio and makers of 'Assassin's Creed' have been looking at them and learning why these movies fell terribly short. With all the hype and talent that 'Assassin's Creed' has been gathering, many are optimistic that this film will finally get it right. 'Assassin's Creed' comes out 21 December 2016.
