Maria Sharapova Update: Another injury after her return to court

Tennis superstar Maria Sharapova returned to the court for the first time in nearly three months. The tennis player left the game during its third set of her opening match at the Wuhan Open in China with an arm injury. The first game of the final set has left her with an aching left forearm that caused her to discontinue the said match.

New York Times shared that Maria Sharapova still played two more games before calling it off due to the said injury. The tennis superstar told the chair umpire that she cannot continue the match with Barbora Strycova which she was already leading. Moreover, Maria Sharapova recently returned after missing an entire hardcourt which also included the US Open due to her leg injury.

Maria Sharapova is still hoping to compete in the upcoming WTA season-ending finals from October 25 to November 1. The said event will be held in Singapore. Also, the tennis superstar is gearing up for a comeback at the Russia's Fed Cup final against Czech Republic scheduled on November 14 to 15, USA Today cited. Maria Sharapova's injury is a bit alarming for the tennis player, but nonetheless, she is on her way to recovery.

The aforementioned competitions are on the top of her priority list - which is the main reason why Maria Sharapova chose to rest her hurting left arm promptly. She is doing all her best to be healthy for the said tournaments, she expressed. Maria Sharapova has been honest about how unsure she is still about her recovery. The tennis superstar exclaimed that she still don't know long it will take for her to be back on track and thus cannot give a definite answer for next week's competition, BBC shared.

Maria Sharapova's consecutive injuries are being monitored by the tennis superstar herself. She is doing everything to get a much faster recovery in order to participate in the tournaments for the rest of the year.
