‘xXx 3’: D.J. Caruso Will Be At The Helm; Vin Diesel Excited For The Third Sequel

By

Vin Diesel has teased again about "xXx 3" finally coming underway for production by December of 2015. He also announced that the film will be directed by D.J. Caruso, who was also the director for "Eagle Eye." Diesel vocally expressed his excitement for the third follow-up movie.

Slash Film reports that both of Vin Diesel's franchise "Fast and Furious 8" and "xXx 3" has already found their filmmakers - F. Gary Gray for the former and D.J. Caruso for the latter. Diesel confirmed this himself while he was being interviewed by Germain Lussier. However, there is no exact timetable for the release dates yet for Caruso's motion picture. Universal, however, has previously announced a release date for "FF8" which will be on April 14, 2017.

Vin Diesel has been teasing about "xXx 3" since 2008, according to Movie Web. But with a director finally taking charge at the helm, he announced that production will start this coming December in the Philippines. The sequel is said to be released on 2016. It said to have the subtitle "The Return of Xander Cage." If things fall into place as Diesel say it would, this would mean that the third sequel for Cage would go before "FF8." But neither Universal nor Sony has officially confirmed any of the actor's statements.

One thing is clear though, Vin Diesel can't wait to start the movie. He is quoted saying, "I'm excited as hell about xXx. D.J. Caruso is directing it, which is exciting. The big question now is which will race to production first now that F. Gary Gray is on [Furious 8]?" Diesel adds that xXx is one of those movies that an actor does with a little bit of fun. He actually refers his portrayal of Dom Torreto as a character having weight and pressure of "all other things that have gone so far." He reiterated that Dom is pretty much the "center of the storm." His Xander character, on the other hand, is the lighter side of someone he wishes to portray at the moment.

Collider has said that Vin Diesel is providing information which is not at all concrete for fans to hold on to. If producers choose which ones will start production and will be shown first, "Fast and Furious 8" will be given more priority than "xXx 3" since it's more popular and everyone will look forward to watching it.

Hopefully, Vin Diesel's excitement will rub on its producers and fans. If his statement for "xXx 3" to start production in the Philippines by December will materialize, Filipinos will surely be delighted to have him around. As for D.J. Caruso, he will probably step up his antics a little bit more to recover from his previous films' reputation.
