Google has unveiled its newest operating system the Android 6.0 marshmallow and many of the smartphone manufacturers have promised that they will bring this upgrade to their patrons. HTC is one of the smartphone makers who have assured their fans of the release. Keeping the promise, the Taiwanese company will now roll out the Android 6.0 to HTC One M7, M8 and M9.
According to Gospel Herald, HTC has not announced the release date yet but it did confirm that it is already working on updating the devices to Android 6.0 Marshmallow. Recently, President of HTC America, Jason Mckenzie, tweeted a promise to start releasing an Android 6.0 update for the One M8 and M9 at the end of 2015.
Christian Post cited on its article other HTC models that are expected to receive the Android Marshmallow update. It includes the HTC One M9, M8, M9+, E9, E9+, One ME, One E8, One M8 EYE, Butterfly 3, and Desire 826.
The HTC One M8 and M9 will be the first models to obtain the update followed by the rest of the announced HTC phones by Q1 and Q2 2016. Different from the traditional schedule for new OS rollouts, HTC aims to send the updates to its devices outside the US before making it available to devices in North America. In the US, HTC will be providing the Marshmallow update in various states based on priority, phone model, and carrier.
Since the update notifications usually appear on a device's notifications panel, users can check for updates manually when they access their handset's Settings menu, click on System Updates under About Phone, and Check for updates.
Moreover, Latinos Post stated the developments and changes that Android 6.0 Marshmallow update will bring. The upgrade comes with Doze, fingerprint scanning support, memory manager, and Google Now on Tap.
Since it was already confirmed by HTC, users of HTC One M7, M8, M9 and other above mentioned models just have to wait for the roll out of Android 6.0 Marshmallow on their devices.
