Batman Arkham Knight developer Rocksteady Studios has been all ears to fans' feedback and doing a good job at keeping their promises with the latest roll out of new major patch 1.09. The latest update brings lots of interesting changes and additions to the well-received title including support for the soon to be released October DLC.
This latest patch 1.09 for Batman: Arkham Knight now provides the gamers an ability to choose characters for AR Challenges, Design & Trend reports. Game director Sefton Hill talked about the this new feature a month ago, although, he mentioned that the team was not working on enabling different characters in free roam.
Gear Nuke quotes Hill via a forum post saying, "However, even though we are not working on free roam for other characters, we are definitely listening to you, and your feedback is invaluable. We know you have been asking for more action for the playable characters, and that's why we've been working hard on getting them into the AR challenges."
Batman Arkham Knight Patch 1.09 which weigh around 5.2 GB offers Hard mode for AR Combat including support for the upcoming October DLC. The complete list of the patch notes are detailed below:
- New feature: Play as other characters in AR combat challenges.
- New feature: Hard mode for AR combat and Batmobile combat challenges when New Story + is finished.
- Removed AR walls where possible to improve immersion.
- Fixed and reset the leaderboards for the Newton's Cradle AR challenge - replay to resubmit your previous high score.
- Support for October additional content.
To choose a different character in AR Challenges, players must do the following steps:
In the AR Challenge menu > go to the AR Challenge to play > press the directional pad left or right
[The leaderboard portion of the screen is replaced with portraits of the characters you have available, and the name of the character in the selection box will turn yellow]
> Hit X (PS4) / A (XB1) to confirm > then get stuck into combat with the character of choice.
According to Euro Gamer, Catwoman, Nightwing, Robin, and Azrael will become playable when the new update is installed. Players don't need to achieve specific points in the story mode so as to use these characters in AR challenges.
The official release date for October DLC is yet to be revealed but with the arrival of Batman Arkham Knight Patch 1.09, gamers can expect that the expansion will be out shortly across PS4 and Xbox One consoles.
