Android 6.0 Marshmallow Causes Issues to Seeral Nexus Devices

By

Android 6.0 Marshmallow is already out to numerous mobile devices. However, it seems that some models are facing some issues brought by the latest Android update despite the preparations and tests done by Google in order to make the mobile operating system update (almost) perfect once it reach the users. Apparently, some of the bugs managed to slip through the developers eyes, thus delivering some errors to certain devices.

Some Nexus phone owners failed to get passed the Android 6.0 Marshmallow installation as it untimely freezes or crashes during the process. In order to fix this issue, users would have to wait until the battery completely discharged before recharging it again to 100%. It is also recommended to erase the cache partition before trying to update the device again.

Anothe rissue noted about the new Android update is the excessive processing power and causes the battery to drain abnormally. Normally, this can be resolved by shutting off background apps, disabling unnecessary services, and restarting the phone more often if possible. Users are also advised to minimize the use of apps that rely on GPS, Wi-Fi, Google Maps, and data.

Aside from excessive power consumption, abnormal charging cycle is another common problem after the major Android updates. Normally this can be recalibrated, but would have to require users to let their device fall to 5-10% battery life before they can full-charge it again.

Is the suggested fix won't work, users can go ahead and restore their devices to their original factory settings. They'll just have to go to "Settings", then to "Personal" and "Backup and Reset". Users may have to enter the PIN or password if prompted. Tap on Erase everything to erase all data from the device's internal storage. Once the device is completely erased, just reboot your device.

While the next Android update won't be coming anytime soon, smartphone users could either make do with the current update or revert to their previous working Android installation. Either ways, Google is still not resting on bringing improvements and fixes to its mobile operating system that is Android 6.0 Marshmallow.
