Motorola has confirmed the soak test for the Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system on Moto X Pure Edition 2015. It has already begun; however, it was just a small test drive to see how the software functions on the device.
The soak test is a private firmware beta test that is performed prior to the unveiling of the official build. Normally, Motorola carries out the practice of inviting users from its forums to be part of its soak tests and give some comments and suggestions. Hence, this is all done in a very confidential manner.
According to some reports that surfaced online, the soak test for the Moto X Pure Edition 2015 has started. However, David Schuster, Motorola's Senior Director, has clarified that their engineers had begun testing the latest Android operating system, but not on a large scale. This means that what has been performed was not a formal soak test yet. The full test might roll out in the next two weeks, depending on the feedback given during the test itself.
Meanwhile, the Moto X Pure Edition 2015 sports a 5.7-inch QHD TFT LCD with 1440 by 2560 pixels display. It is powered by 1.86GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 chipset with 3GB of RAM and 3000mAh battery. Camera wise, it boasts a 21-megapixel rear shooter and 5-megapixel front snapper. In addition, it comes in three variants - 16GB, 32GB, and 64GB internal storage expandable up to 128GB.
Nonetheless, if the full soak test goes smoothly, then Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system might begin hitting other Motorola handsets any time soon. Motorola has already confirmed its plan to roll out the update to some of its smartphones, including all Moto X 2015 models.
