It was reported that 'Resident Evil: Final Chapter' is intended to be the concluding film in the widely popular franchise that first had its live-action cinematic release in 2002. The films are based on Capcom's horror-survival video games of the same name. The sixth installment will pick up after the events of its predecessor 'Resident Evil: Retribution'.

It wasn't all fun and games on set as stuntwoman Olivia Jackson met a near-fatal accident while filming a scene for the film. According to IGN, Jackson worked as Jovovich's stunt double when she collided with a camera crane while performing a motorcycle stunt. She was immediately rushed to a hospital after sustaining multiple severe injuries.
Jovovich shared her thoughts on the ordeal, "None of us have experienced anything like this in our careers making action films and hope we never do again, but the production reacted very quickly to ensure she received the best care and also in reaching out to her family and making sure they were informed and looked after during this overwhelmingly difficult time. Thank God, they have been by her side through out this harrowing week."
'Resident Evil: The Final Chapter' is a science-fiction horror film scheduled to be released on January 27, 2017. It is currently filming in South Africa.
