The iOS 9 development cycle is the fastest in the history of Apple's software development process. The latest iOS 9.1 update is already in its fifth beta version which aims to solve the problems in iOS 9.0.2.
According to Forbes, the pace of the iOS 9.1 beta build release is much faster compared to other updates' development as reflected in an iOS blog named Thinky Bits' tracking. It reportedly only took 33 days for Apple to reach the fifth iOS 9.1 beta update.
The report also said that the speed at which Apple releases the iOS 9 beta updates had to do with the complaints that the company receives from users of the iOS 9. Apple tries to quickly resolve the issues surrounding the new software to pacify Apple users. Providing quick fixes could be good but there is a possibility that speedy releases could bring about new problems or make earlier bugs even worse.
BGR reported that aside from providing solutions to the problems in iOS 9.0.2, the latest iOS 9.1 beta update will have extra features to offer. The iOS 9.1 fifth beta version includes new emojis and an updated collection of standard wallpapers, and support for Apple TV and for iPad Pro. Developers can also use Live Photos in third-party apps with the Live Photos API included in iOS 9.1 beta 5.
In an earlier report by Venture Capital Post, it was stated that the iOS 9.0.2 update turned out to be problematic. Major bugs on notifications and messaging were present in the update. It was also reported that Apple no longer offers users the option to downgrade to iOS 8. That means users are stuck with either the iOS 9.0.1 or the iOS 9.0.2 until the final version of the iOS 9.1 update rolls out.
Apple continues to be more open to customers as it responds to complaints by providing quick updates for the iOS 9. Users expect that the iOS 9.1 will finally resolve all major problems in iOS 9.0.2.
