Google recently unveiled its newest operating system that was first seen with LG's Nexus 5X and Huawei's Nexus 6P. Now, LG Electronics wants to bring the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update to LG G4 and it is expected to arrive this coming December through over-the-air (OTA) update. Other pioneer models of the Korean tech giant are also expected to receive the upgrade.
According to Neurogadget, LG is the first to have the source code of Android 6.0 Marshmallow on its hands. And based on T-Mobile's record of devices that will be obtaining the newest operating system, the rollout of the Marshmallow OS to the LG G4 is a definite thing and is only a few weeks away.
On the other hand, the information that the Android M will be accessible in December is based on the fact that back in 2014, Lollipop launch date took place around the same period. In addition, after LG G4's update to Android 6.0, worldwide carriers will also start to roll out the Android M update to their own smartphones.
Tech Gadget Central stated on its article that the LG V10, LG G Flex 2, LG G3 and even the LG G2 are also bound to receive Android 6.0 Marshmallow. With this year's releases, the update is most likely to be seen before New Year, especially when it comes with the unlocked units. The Android 6.0 Marshmallow is going to be rolled out in stages but then, the LG and the LG G4 are among the few that are expected to be fast about the rollout.
Moreover, iDigitalTimes cited the enhancements and newest features that Android Marshmallow will bring to the aforementioned devices. One of the most awaited features of the new operating system is the Google Now voice command update which will now allow users to control apps with their voice. This new feature will allow users to navigate their phone and apps without using their hands, making their devices more convenient and user-friendly. In addition, the developers have seen that the new operating system and several features include an extended battery life, overhauled app permissions, the "Now on Tap" tool, fingerprint support, App links, and lastly, the automatic backup.
The over-the-air rollout of Android Marshmallow will be greadual so a little patience might be required for the process. However, the handlers of the other above mentioned devices still have to sit tight as the Korean tech giant is still yet to announce the definite date of Android 6.0 release on their devices.
