Fans of "Game of Thrones" as well as the book series "A Song of Ice and Fire" where it was based obviously know that the television show has finally caught up with the books. However, there's good news in the air, as the publication of the next book "Winds of Winter" is close to becoming a reality. George R.R. Martin himself reportedly confirmed the book's release. In addition, the said book is believed to include a twist involving a minor character.
According to iSchoolGuide, Martin eyes for the book to be released prior to the 6th season of show, which airs in the second quarter of next year. He reportedly claimed to have cancelled several appearances in interviews and conventions in order to finish the book sooner.
The 67-year-old novel writer also reportedly said about new twist involving a minor character in the recent draft of "Winds of Winter," which he defines as something that will drive the readers "crazy." The publication added that the twist, however, will not likely to be added in the show. It is believed that the show, on this certain character, has "made a couple of decisions that will preclude it."
On the other hand, iDigitalTimes reported that the "Game of Thrones" season 6 production team already has access to the "Winds of Winter" manuscript. The book may not be released as of yet, but they're reportedly basing the forthcoming season from it. It is believed that George R.R. Martin himself is helping them with the right words. But then again, as what reports say, everything is still a work in progress.
Meanwhile, Parent Herald said that despite working on finishing the sixth installment for "A Song of Ice and Fire" entitled "Winds of Winter," Martin's writing prowess will again be adapted; however, this time, it's about werewolves. Martin reportedly announced this weekend that "The Skin Trade," a short story about werewolves that he wrote in 1980s, has been commissioned by Cinemax. Reports say that he and the television network underwent a grueling process, so as to pick the apt writer.
In the meantime, fans can only wish to fast forward to the day when "Winds of Winter" will be released. After all, 2016 is just 2 months away.
What do you think about George R.R. Martin's "Winds of Winter?" Who do you think is the minor character he was talking about?
