Metallica Recording New Album Says James Hetfield

By

Metallica has some good news for fans. The long awaited tenth studio album is in the process. James Hetfield, in charge of vocals and guitar, announces the great news himself.

"I tell ya, we're recording right now," confirms Hetfield in a recent report by Billboard. He further teases fans with guitar details saying, "There's the number one guitar, the number two guitar and here's the third-track guitars that just sound different."

There is yet to be a definite date for release or even any hint for the new album's theme. But fans are definitely expecting a lot from the legendary American heavy metal band who touched fans with their soulful songs making them hit the billboard charts in 2008.

Guitarist Kirk Hammett gave an estimate on how far they're coming along with their new album. "I would say we're at the 25 percent point, maybe 30 percent point. It's hard to say, but I mean we are working on it and there are songs and we're making plans to write more songs and record." Hammett told Billboard in April.

And now that we're hearing from Metallica's frontman Hetfield with their progress, fans can estimate they should be about 50 percent to finishing it.

The tenth album is Metallica's follow-up to 2008's Death Magnetic album. Death Magnetic debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard album chart and also topped the charts in 33 other countries. As cited by Loudwire, Death Magnetic remained in the top 200 for 50 weeks and was the number one in the States for three consecutive weeks paving Metallica's way to fame.

And while everybody waits, fans of the metal band can check out Metallica's very own comic book biography. It was written by Michael Frizell and illustrated by David Frizell. The comic features the history of the Los Angeles band which started in 1981. It's now available through StormFront Media.

Stay tuned for more updates from the band.
