'Z-Men' is a zombie graphic novel planned for a cinematic adaptation sometime in the future. Lionsgate has partnered with Take-Two's comic book subsidiary Double Take to bring Jeff McComsey's work to the big-screen.

According to Cinema Blend, Lionsgate will adapt Jeff McComsey's popular graphic novel into a full feature film. Lionsgate Motion Picture Group's co-chairs Rob Friedman and Patrick Wachsberger issued a statement saying, "We're delighted to expand our relationship with our friends at Take-Two by partnering with their comic book arm, Double Take, in bringing Z-Men to the big screen." Double Take is a subsidiary of videogame developer and publisher Take-Two Interactive Software.

The project will be the second in line to be launched by the partnership between Lionsgate and Take-Two. It was previously announced that they are also planning to take on the video game 'Borderlands' to be produced by Avi Arad.

The two also added that the collaboration will help diversify their offerings of various media adapted into big-screen releases. According to ComingSoon, Friedman and Wachsberger expressed their enthusiasm over yet another procured intellectual property that will aid in the expansion of their portfolio of novel, video game and board game adaptations.

According to ScreenCrush, 'Z-Men' is said to take place in George Romero's cult favorite 'Night of the Living Dead'. It is also considered as its spin-off. However, only bits of the story actually occur in the Romero's created universe.

Double Take launched nine other comics in a collection called 'Ultimate Night of the Living Dead' with titles based on Romero's 1968 film. The series followed events that occurred before and during the actual events in the film.

'Z-Men' follows a pair of secret service agents under the employ of President Lyndon B. Johnson. Stuart and Clancy are sent to Pennsylvania to investigate the appearance of a zombie. However, to their despair, they find that the town is overrun by the undead and in the midst of an impending zombie apocalypse.
