Samsung Galaxy S7 Rumors: Design Patent Reveals Edged Surface Concept, Other Possible Features

By

Samsung Electronics recently released its newest Galaxy S series flagship phone, the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+. The Korean tech giant is now expected to unveil the next in line which is the Galaxy S7 whichaccording to the company's design patent, will have an edged surface.

According to BGR, the 3DFuture used one of Samsung's own design patents to create a wild Galaxy S7 edge concept. The design has curved display that wraps around at the top and bottom of the handset as alternative of having edges on the sides.

Moreover, the Galaxy S7 might make more logic to have the "edge" display features on the top of the device, as this tactic would allow Samsung to give room for the volume buttons and other buttons more prominently on the side. With this, the top and bottom part of the device are seemingly free of any buttons.

Softepedia cited other features that the Samsung Galaxy S7 might sport. This smartphone would possibly be armed with a QHD Super AMOLED display. It is believed to be engineered by the upcoming Snapdragon 820 processor of Qualcomm that will work together with a 4GB of RAM.

As for the S7's camera, it may have an advanced 21-megapixel rear-facing camera with dual-LED dual tone flash, plus an 8-megapixel front-facing shooter for selfies and video chats. In Addition, the SIM tray is placed on top of the device and the USB Type-C 3.0 port located at the bottom part of the phone together with the 3.5mm headphone jack.

Neurogadget further added that the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S7 has a rectangular body with sharp corners. The volume rocker buttons can be found on the left hand side, while the power button is placed on the right side.

Since this design was based on Samsung's plan, it is not impossible that the Samsung Galaxy S7 might have this appearance. Meanwhile, other details about the Galaxy S7 has been confirmed yet by the Korean tech giant, so the Galaxy S series enthusiasts need to sit back and wait for the company to spill the specifics of the phone itself.
