Rumors regarding the Apple TV Internet streaming service has been resurrected once again. CBS President and CEO Moonves has hinted that there might be a partnership brewing between the two companies.
Apple has recently launched the new version of their set-top box a few weeks ago. However, fans were disappointed to learn that the anticipated service has been scrapped at the last moment.
Moonves told Bloomberg: "Apple is having conversations with everyone about doing their own streaming services. We have had those conversations, as have the other networks. Do I think something will happen? Probably, but I do not know when."
However, CBS is not considering tying the knot with Apple TV yet. They are also reportedly having discussions with Netflix and even Facebook over streaming rights.
The streaming service was supposed to be launched alongside the new model. However, the slow progress on licensing agreements have made it impossible for Apple to push through with the launch.
Apple has also considered Fox, NBC and ABC, according to Digital Trends. However, there hasn't been any updates. If they could have managed to grab the broadcasters, Apple TV users would be able to stream the latest Gotham and Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. episodes.
Even if it takes a long time, the Cupertino company would most likely close deals with the networks. After all, Apple still has huge following with its sheeple.
There is no concrete confirmation from CBS yet on whether there will be a deal what will solidify over their discussions. But fans are hoping that it would be soon.
The alleged Apple TV subscription service is expected to cost around $40 per month, according to BGR. Apple is also rumored to offer up to 30 channels for the service.
Perhaps Apple would like to offer a much cheaper streaming service. Cable subscriptions are sometimes less expensive.
The new Apple TV still has a gaping void waiting to be filled with the Internet streaming service. When will Apple finally launch its anticipated service for viewers?
