Apple has added a split-screen multitasking to its newly updated Pages, Numbers, and Keynote on iOS and OS X. This is considered as one of the major feature additions to its new operating systems.
According to The Verge, the updates come about a month after the release of iOS 9. It's by no means a long-wait, however, a user can create something of the fact that Microsoft, which demonstrated Office on stage at Apple's event that happened last month, has had support for iPad split-screen in Word, Excel, and Powerpoint since the first day. A user can now begin getting its split-screen productivity fix from Apple. Nevertheless, there are still some good reasons to ponder the choices if a user doesn't have it yet.
A minute later than some predicted, Apple has released latest editions of the iWork suite of apps for iPad and iPhone with iOS 9 and iPhone 6s features. Pages, Keynote, and Numbers are now supporting the iPad multitasking features including Split View on iPad Air 2, iPad mini 4, and iPad Pro including a 3D Touch on iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus. In addition, the iWork apps also increased new versions on the Mac with OS X El Capitan features and a lot more, 9to5mac wrote.
Mac Rumors states that there are also new Force Touch gestures for the every app that work with the new Force Touch Magic Trackpad and the Retina Macbook Pro trackpad as well as the 12-inch MacBook. In all three of the apps, a Force click on a photo will let them to be edited and this Force gesture has in-built haptic feedback.
The Keynote and Pages have also gained support for initial presentations and documents from 2006 and 2008 editions of the software while Numbers are now allowed to open Numbers '08 spreadsheets. The Shared Pages, Keynote, and Numbers documents are now able to be previewed on iOS and Android browsers.
What's more, the iWork apps for iOS has been updated by Apple which is remarkably the addition of split-screen multitasking support on the iPad and support for 3D Touch on the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus. When it comes to the iPad, the three apps have also gained fresh Multi-Touch gestures for choosing text, a new Shortcut Bar that offers fast access to formatting tools, and new keyboard shortcuts whenever it is connected to a wireless keyboard.
