Sony's 'Concept for Android' Marshmallow Edition is limited only to European countries. The new update will roll out soon particularly for the 10,000 Xperia Z3 and Xperia Z3 Compact users of the select countries.
Earlier this year, Sony has released its 'Concept for Android' initiative which has a cleaner version of Android 5.1 compared to the UI used in Sony's shipping devices, and Sony's most popular features and apps that are loved by users. It is said that Sony has gained positive response for this creativity where only 500 users of Xperia Z3 were allowed to participate. This has upgraded the project to the newest version of Android 6.0 Marshmallow, reports Toms hardware.
The latest update will roll out next week to up to 10,000 Xperia Z3 and Xperia Z3 Compact users from the countries of Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Finland, Iceland, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, the United Kingdom, Ireland, and Germany.
On the other hand, the Mobipicker reports that the United States is not obtaining the update right away and they need to wait for a while. Sony has already taken spots on a first come- first serve basis. It shall reach testers in the imminent weeks with information regarding the next step.
According to the initial testers' feedback, the software build provided their Xperia handsets well-timed updates, a sleeker user interface, faster and smoother performance as well as an extended battery life. Hence, this new Android 6.0 edition must offer similar benefits and more, Android Community wrote.
The Sony Xperia Z3 and Xperia Z3 Compact users who reside in any of the aforementioned countries can sign up through downloading the Sony´s Concept for Android app that is now available on Google Play Store.
Sony is claimed to hope that that this new process will help it convey the new version of Android Marshmallow faster to its customers while offering them the features they desire to see most.
