Last October 6, Microsoft has officially unveiled its new Surface Pro 4 at a launch event in New York where it also confirmed that the latest hybrid device will be available on October 26 while its pre-order procedure has already started on October 7.
According to Tech Radar, the design of the new Surface Pro 4 has been made under iterative modification, instead of a full transformation. The company has slimmed down the 12.3-inch display's bezel in order to accommodate more screen, and creating more room for Office including other applications while retaining a similar physical footprint as the Surface Pro 3.
Microsoft Surface Pro 4 sports a 2,736 x 1,824 pixel-resolution display, offering a PPI of 267. Its aspect ratio remains 3:2 that gives a little extra vertical space compared to old 16:9 displays.
The top-end Surface Pro 4 also features an equally impressive 16GB RAM and 1TB storage, along with a 6th generation Core i7 Intel processor. During the event, Microsoft announced that the new Surface Pro 4 is actually 30 percent faster than its predecessor Surface Pro 3, , and 50 per cent faster compared to its straight rival, the MacBook Air, IT Pro wrote.
What's more is that the device has a new and redesigned Surface Pen that has a magnetic storage and an eraser, and it also boasts an all-year battery life. With the pen arrives a refurbished Type Cover that will be thinner and lighter as predicted with a bigger precision glass trackpad and integrated backlit keyboard.
A report from International Business Times noted that some of the biggest updates of the Surface series are also backward-compatible with the Pro 3, such as Microsoft's new keyboard cover. It is said that the latest type cover has backlit keys, a larger trackpad and better-spaced keys.
Moreover, the company has even got a variant with a fingerprint scanner, a high-tech way of logging in that virtually makes up due to the fact that the Pro 3 doesn't feature a face scanning. Microsoft's latest Surface Dock operates with the Pro 3, that will provide additional USB ports, audio/video out, Charging and Ethernet.
The new hybrid device Microsoft Surface Pro 4 which can now be pre-ordered is carrying a price tag that starts at $899 and it will come available on October 26.
