Reality tv series Married at First Sight: The First Year returned to the television with the remaining couples from the Season 1 Jamie Otis and Doug Hehner as well as Cortney Hendrix and Jason Carrion. Married at First Sight: The First Year Season 2 premiered last 13 October 2015 with the first episode entitled The Bucket List.

While Season 1 of Married at First Sight: The First Year highlighted the honeymoon bliss and relationships with extended families married couple's first stage, Season 2 will be more serious and dramatic. According to Christian Today, the sequel season will focus more on the couples, issues as a couple, and their inner struggles.

International Business Times posted that in the previous season, Jamie started expressing her desire to have a baby after learning her sister was pregnant. This Season 2 Premiere, again, Jamie tried convincing Doug on taking their marriage further by having kids. But Doug has other plans in mind.

Doug, being his usual self, shared his pre-fatherhood bucket which annoyed Jamie. Jamie is unhappy with Doug's priority in life and his being immature.

Doug knew how he made his wife feel with his bucket list and planned on surprising his wife on her birthday. Jamie woke up with two bicycles in their garage.

On the other hand, Cortney and Jason started strong with Season 2 Premiere with the conviction of positivity, especially on Cortney's side. However, her positivity was immediately challenged when she was relocated to Connecticut for her special-effects makeup stint. She can only be with Jason during weekends.

Jason is busy as well with his post modeling stint in 2016 New York Firefighters calendar. His shirtless cover of the calendar attracted female fans but Cortney assured she is not jealous.

Married at First Sight: The First Year Season 2 will introduce Neph Rodriguez and Jasmine as the show's additional couple. The two are struggling with long distance relationship but the set up was difficult for the two. Jasmine decided to move from Texas to New York for Neph.
