Android 6.0 Marshmallow is expected to roll out on HTC One E9 devices after the ongoing fuss of the new upgrade's release dates to confirmed handset devices. Although there has been no official word from the Taiwanese giant yet, One E9 is reportedly receiving the Marshmallow update early next year.
HTC One E9 could possibly get the Android 6.0 Marshmallow software based on its specs as new reports have surfaced. The mid-range device sports 3 GB of RAM and 2 GHz processor, enough for a smartphone to qualify for the biggest update in Android history.
Trusted Reviews reported that One E9 devices will begin to experience Marshmallow update and all it offers next year shortly after the upgrade hits flagship devices One M9 and One M8. As it was reported back in August, well-known tipster and HTC executive Mo Versi had revealed on Twitter about the company's plans for Android 6.0 to its devices. In September, the company also officially revealed that One M9 and One M8 units will kick off receiving the upgrade by December.
Although HTC has been renowned for so-so sales performance for its smartphone devices, it has become one of the companies clear with their instructions and generous on information with regards to Android updates.
HTC works on a 90-day cycle for software upgrades while letting out updates after two years from its release depending on carrier and region.
Other HTC devices qualified for the Android 6.0 Marshmallow software includes One M9+, One E9+, One ME, One E8, One M8 Eye, Desire 826, Desire 820 and Desire 816. The brand also previously hinted through its invitation "Meet the Marshmallow from HTC" that it will be launching in public the One A9 device on October 20 with Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box.
Android 6.0 Marshmallow will bring in new key features like Doze and improvements in Google Now, Apps Permissions, app drawer and so many more.
