Following the disappointing delay of Project Cars on May, developer Slightly Mad Studios has announced its game sequel early on. However, the studios seem to be taking steps towards a crowdfunding movement for the second installment of the game.
With thousands of feedbacks received from the success of Project CARS, the game franchise has already been established as a "true competitor" and "market leader" in both the graphic and technical aspects alike. As the demands for new features and updates continue, Slightly Mad Studios finally announced the continuation of the franchise with Project CARS 2. Project Cars Game's official website gladly introduces some features of the sequel by having the largest track roster, widest variety of motor sports, pro e-sports racing, co-op career, seamless connection, and a customizable test track.
Slightly Mad Studios has been raising funds on the World Mass Development platform. Through the WMD portal, the game shall be tested and approved by the gamers. While there is still no official budget for the sequel, Kotaku reports that there exists a form of a reward tiers which range from access to the game for $45 to rather odd things like "Michelin-starred dinner with the Head of Studio plus all costs covered at a luxury hotel in London and a luxury weekend itinerary including use of a Ferrari 458 Spider!" for $11,342. However, amidst the attention for the development of Project Cars 2, Slightly Mad stated that this does not mark the end for the Project Cars development.
Such statement holds true as despite the official announcement of Project Cars 2, Project Cars is still racing its development for DLCs, bug fixes, and new patches. While Windows Central speculated that the game sequel may not likely be released on 2017, fans and gamers alike would still be welcoming any additional life that the studio has to offer.
While its official release is still a long way ahead, Project Cars 2 is now surely on the road. With Slightly Mad relying on crowdfunding, the game's development lies mainly to the gamers involved in the WMD portal.
