Lyft teams up with Hertz, Shell

The San Francisco-based ride-hailing company Lyft has teamed up with Hertz Global Holdings Inc for offering rental cars to its drivers. Hertz offers car rentals on daily, weekly and monthly basis and now these services will be available as part of the agreement with Lyft, which offers rental cars to drivers who don't have their own cars or meet Lyft standards. On a pilot basis, Lyft plan with Hertz is available for drivers in Las Vegas and it will expand this plan to other locations soon. Lyft has also partnered with Shell for providing gasoline at discounted price to its drivers.

Boeing 777 propels Emirates Airlines' growth

The long-haul aircraft requirement of Dubai for positioning itself as a major global hub in the Middle East (ME) Region has been mostly fulfilled by Boeing. Dubai-based Emirates Airlines is banking on Boeing 777 as its top priority and followed by Airbus A380. Emirates Airlines has emerged as the largest airline in the world operating both aircrafts. Emirates Airline has been working on its business strategy to transform Dubai into a global hub in the Region. It aims at becoming an unavoidable destination for passengers from Asia to Europe and the US. This makes the requirement of long-haul aircraft for the Emirates Airlines.

With the European court judgment's awareness, UK aviation regulators started enforcing the budget airline Ryanair, to compensate thousands of delayed passengers. The statement came after hours after a final ruling from the European court of justice opened the floodgates for compensation claims against airlines that could reach into hundreds of millions of pounds, as reported by The Guardian.
