Huawei, the fast-growing Chinese smartphone maker has listed on the website Weibo, the devices in its line-up that are qualified to get the update to the newest mobile Operating System, Android 6.0 Marshmallow.
As reported by NDTV Gadgets, Huawei has unveiled its Android 6.0 Marshmallow roadmap for its handsets. The Chinese telecommunications giant has posted the announcement on its Weibo and Emotion UI pages.
When it comes to the popular Huawei Ascend and Mate series, the following variants that are scheduled to get the Android M OTA update would be the Ascend P8, Ascend P8Max, Mate S, P8, Ascend G7, Ascend G7 Plus, and Ascend G8, Latin Post wrote.
As for the Honor series, Huawei has also announced that the Honor 7, Honor 7i, Honor 6 Plus, Honor 6, MediaPad X2, Honor 4X, and Honor 4C are the eligible smartphones and phablets for an upgrade to the newAndroid 6.0 Marshmallow, too.
According to Neuro Gadget, the latest Android 6.0 Marshmallow brings several fresh features including the fingerprint support, a new intuitive Now on Tap feature, a new Doze application which will enhance the battery life the device, applications control and more. It is said that Doze will prolong the battery life of the device by at least 30%, depending on the internal hardware of the device.
Nevertheless, Huawei enthusiasts should keep in mind that only the devices from the Chinese county are eligible to receive the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update. The international variant of the devices will be able to receive the update a bit later.
It is also said that the company plans on starring the rollout at some point in November 2015. However, since this is the official list of the Chinese versions of Huawei's smartphones, the update schedule for the global customers of Huawei may not follow a similar schedule.
In fact, those Huawei users in the U.S. or elsewhere will possibly have to wait till sometime next year before the Android 6.0 Marshmallow OTA rolls out in their smartphones.
